By Staff
WINDER - The city of Winder has reported two cases of rabid raccoons in the area since the first of the month.

The latest incident was confirmed Monday. Animal control officials said residents on Hidden Court off Sims Road trapped a raccoon they said was acting in a strange manner. The animal tested positive for rabies.

A previous case occurred last Thursday on Meadowbrook Drive, also in Winder.

Barrow County Animal Control has handled both cases.
