GAINESVILLE - Habitat for Humanity of Hall County will again host its annual playhouse competition and fundraiser at Mule Camp Market.

Currently in its 9th year, the competition this year has been restructured to increase the level of construction and excitement, according to Habitat officials.
This year's theme is Battle of the Builders, the ultimate showdown among area
high schools to claim victory and bragging rights.

Each playhouse is built by construction classes from each of the participating high schools including Gainesville High, Chestatee High, Flowery Branch High, West Hall High and Johnson High.

Winners will receive awards, media recognition and an appreciation letter to the local school boards and principals. A panel of community leaders and construction professionals will be judging this year's entries.

Participants will be judged on the following basis: Built to Specifications; Best Exterior Design; Best Interior Design; Attention to Detail; Best Use of Proper
Construction Techniques; and the highly coveted, Best of Show.

"So much is accomplished with the playhouse competition. This event provides learning opportunities and building skills to high schoolers and play time for kids during Mule Camp all while raising money for Habitat for Humanity," said Building Director and Competition Coordinator Tim Williams.

Visitors to Mule Camp Market will have the opportunity to buy raffle tickets with the hope of winning one of these amazing playhouses. Winners of the playhouses, as well as the winners of the high school awards, will be announced at Mule Camp on Sunday, October 12, at 4 p.m.
