GAINESVILLE - Peach State Bank & Trust in Gainesville will host North Georgia author Emory Jones for a book signing on Friday, February 13 at the bank's Washington Street offices.
Jones has recently released his first historical novel "The Valley Where They Danced," an entertaining tale set in North Georgia at the end of World War I. The book is based loosely on a local White County legend and portrays the sweetness of two young lovers, the idealist Dr. Tom Garrison from Macon and the beautiful Lenora Conley from the Sautee Valley. The novel provides a gripping perspective on the ravages of war, family, faith and unity, with Northeast Georgia as the backdrop.
The public is invited to meet Jones from 3 to 6 p.m. on February 13. The event will be held on the 3rd floor of Peach State Bank & Trust at 325 Washington Street.
Jones has also written other books including "White County 101," "Distant Voices: The Story of The Nacoochee Valley Indian Mound," "Zipping Through Georgia on a Goat Powered Time Machine" and "Heart of a Co-Op: The HEMC Story." He also produced the Experience Northeast Georgia CD set narrated by the late John Kollock.
