VININGS, Ga. (AP) Cobb County police say they're investigating after Smyrna police say a man drove a Maserati drove toward officers, who opened fire on the car, killing him.
Smyrna police have said officers were trying to serve a warrant on the man Tuesday afternoon.
Cobb County police Sgt. Dana Pierce told The Associated Press that three officers from the county department were there as backup for the Smyrna officers. Pierce said none of the Cobb County officers fired their weapons.
Smyrna police didn't immediately return messages Wednesday morning.
On Tuesday, Smyrna police Officer Ed Cason told reporters the man drove the Maserati toward them, and the officers feared for their lives.
The shooting happened in an unincorporated part of Cobb County in the Vinings area.
Police haven't released the dead man's name.
