FLOWERY BRANCH - Authorities have arrested a mother and son from Flowery Branch, saying the two may be connected to a man whose remains were found Sunday afternoon off Capitola Farm Road.

Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Nicole Bailes said Monica Duffie, 42, and her son Crayg Dykes, 24, were arrested Wednesday after the Flowery Branch Police Department conducted a search of their home at 6604 Misty Springs Lane, in the Boulder Creek subdivision. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Hall County Sheriff's Office assisted in the execution of the search warrant, according to Bailes.

Adult Protective Services also assisted in the investigation and removed three  elderly men and one elderly woman from the residence. Bailes did not elaborate on the medical condition of the four people who were removed from the home.

Currently, authorities believe the skeletal remains of the man discovered Sunday could have belonged to a missing elderly person who also lived at the home.

Bailes said Duffie faces charges of possession of a Schedule 4 drug and financial card fraud; she is being held at the Hall County Jail without bond. Meanwhile, Dykes faces charges of tampering with evidence, making false statements and obstruction. Bailes said his bond has been set at $8,500.

Bailes said the investigation is ongoing and it is possible more charges will be filed.
