BRASELTON - Grading is underway on the first phase of a new healthcare campus in Braselton right across GA 347 from the new campus of Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

The 22-acre site on Friendship Road is being developed by The Norton Agency and will include several buildings with total office space of 250-thousand square feet, according to a press statement from The Norton Agency.

The development will be known as the Highpoint Medical Center.

The first phase of Highpoint will be Building 100, a 40,000 square-foot structure, and will serve as the South Braselton Healthcare Center for The Longstreet Clinic and The Northeast Georgia Diagnostic Clinic.

Mimi Collins, President of The Longstreet Clinic says, “We are excited about the Highpoint Medical Center’s development and its strategic position to serve our existing client base in this area of North Georgia. Longstreet is committed to providing its patient family with the highest quality of healthcare and accessibility to our broad array of services.”

Emmitt Forrester, Practice Administrator for The Northeast Georgia Diagnostic Center, is equally excited about being one of the first to locate in the Center:  “The Braselton market area is ripe for quality healthcare services and Northeast Georgia Diagnostic Center is excited to become an active player in this region.”

According to current plans, upon opening, pediatric, obstetrics and gynecological, orthopedics, general surgery neurosurgery, internal medicine, comprehensive care and imaging services will be available.

Future expansion will include a full service pharmacy and other healthcare service.

The Norton Agency said the campus will include lake walking trails, waterfalls, meditation paths and lunch recreation areas as well as recirculating storm water irrigation and a “living green” retaining wall system.

Highpoint is a joint venture between Medical Arts 2.0 and local physicians practicing on the Highpoint Campus; the Norton Agency is the Developer/Manager of the Highpoint Campus.

Expected construction start-up is mid-2015 and the Center should open for services in May or June of next year.
