Drunk father arrested for letting teen daughter drive home

By Associated Press

MILTON, Ga. (AP) Police say a north Georgia father has been arrested after letting his 15-year-old daughter drive her family home from a concert because he was too drunk.

Multiple news outlets report 43-year-old Jason Phipps let his daughter, who has a learning permit, drive home from the Zac Brown concert at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Alpharetta Saturday. Witnesses watched as the teen hit a parked Jeep and continued driving.

Witnesses provided police with the tag number to the Phipps' silver GMC Yukon, and investigators tracked the SUV to a home in Milton. Police were waiting near the home when the Phipps family arrived, the report states. By then, Phipps was driving the SUV. Officers could smell alcohol on Phipps and was arrested on DUI charges.

The teen was also cited.
