GAINESVILLE - A man who practiced medicine for 37 years in Gainesville passed away on Friday, May 15 and will be remembered Monday, May 18 at a memorial service at First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville.
Christopher Joseph Walker, Jr., know to his friends as Kit, was born in 1928 in Albertville, AL and attended Albertville High School. He went on to The University of Alabama and Emory University Medical School. Walker then served in the 3rd Infantry Division of the U.S. Army.
After completing his military service, he moved to Gainesville establish his private medical practice in 1956. Dr. Walker served as Chief of Staff of the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in 1976.
After his retirement in 1993, he lived on his farm and raised cattle, traveled, and enjoyed time with his family.
