MIAMI (AP) Police have confirmed the remains of a woman found in Biscayne Bay off Miami are that of a missing 26-year-old woman from Dekalb County in metro Atlanta.
Multiple news outlets report the body of Lauren Jenee Lamar was recovered Tuesday. Authorities say Lamar had been out on a 30-foot boat Sunday with two other people who say they didn't notice Lamar was missing until about 11 p.m. When they returned to shore and docked at Matheson Hammock Marina, the driver of the vessel, 45-year-old Russell Bruce, called police.
Police say Bruce and the other passenger on the boat, 28-year-old Nicole Bartolota, were questioned Monday. No charges have been filed.
Family says Lamar had just moved to Florida from the Atlanta metro area.
A cause of death has not been determined
