GAINESVILLE - Summer means fresh fruits and vegetables across north Georgia, and thanks to farmers markets that have now opened, citizens now have several places to buy those items right from the source.
The Downtown Gainesville Market on the Square was the most recent farmers market to open in Hall County, setting up shop Friday afternoon.
Market Manager Steve Thomas said the farmers market will be open every Friday from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. through October 2. Special Independence Day activities are scheduled for July 3.
