Gainesville PD says residents have seen rabid coyote

GAINESVILLE —Gainesville police are telling residents along Riverside Drive and Island Drive to be alert after several reports of what appears to be a rabid coyote in the area.
 
Police Cpl. Kevin Holbrook said some residents have seen the animal during daylight hours, acting abnormally.
 
He said residents need to make sure their pets are not outside alone or unattended. Anyone who sees the animal needs to call Gainesville PD at 770-534-5251 or Hall County Dispatch at 770-532-8816.
