SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Anna Mitchell Ralston, 12, of Gainesville, Ga. was crowned the Pre-Teen Intermediate Pageant Winner at the 2015 AYOP (America’s Youth on Parade) USA and World Twirling Championships held from July 21-25 in South Bend, Indiana.

This title means that Ralston is the best intermediate baton twirler in the 10-12 year old age group in the nation, the highest title available to an individual contestant in her age/skill group.

To win this prestigious title, Ralston competed in a three-part event where she performed a model, strut and solo routine. She twirled against 34 other competitors from across the nation who qualified from their respective regions and states in this event. In addition, Ralston placed top 10 in all of her individual events throughout the week in strut, solo, two-baton and duet. Ralston’s duet partner, Jessica Morlan, 9, of Thomson, Ga. also won the title of Juvenile Miss Majorette of America.

Ralston is instructed by coach Colleen Murphy. She resides in Gainesville with her family and is a rising seventh grader at Gainesville Middle School.
