By Dean Dyer, WRWH

CLEVELAND - The White County man known for his  blue rooster pottery has died.

Edwin "Nub" Meaders, 94, of Cleveland, died at his home Tuesday.

Meaders was a part of the renowned Meaders Pottery Family.

He made pottery for 47 years and was widely known for  the very popular cobalt blue roosters, as well as face jugs.

Meaders, following family tradition, set up his own old-fashioned pottery operation behind his home in 1970.

He was featured in the Foxfire 8 book, and his work is displayed in the Folk Pottery Museum of Northeast Georgia in Sautee-Nacoochee.
