A mobile home fire in Lakemont Saturday night claimed the life of an elderly man.
"We are investigating the fire at 154 Community Lane in Lakemont," said Laura Wright, spokeswoman for the State Fire Marshal's Office on Sunday morning.
"The structure, a singlewide mobile home, was a total loss," Wright said. "The victim was a 78-year-old male.
"There were no utilities connected to the unit at the time of the fire," Wright said. "We don't have a specific cause or origin at this time, so the case remains under investigation."
The victim's name has not been released pending notification of family members.
