By Caleb Hutchins Assistant News Director

One person was found dead after a house fire in Forsyth County early Friday morning.

The Forsyth County Fire Department issued a statement saying the fire was at a home on Fairlane Trail off of Bethel Road in the northeast part of the county. Crews were called to the scene just before 5:00 a.m.

The fire was reportedly brought under control quickly, but when firefighters began searching what remained of the home, they found a person's body inside. Investigators were then called to the scene, including from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office's Criminal Investigations Division.

Three nearby homes were also damaged by radiant heat from the house fire. The cause of that fire remains under investigation.

The body has been taken to the Forsyth County Coroner's Office to determine cause of death.
