A Pendergrass man was killed in a Monday afternoon rush hour crash in Jackson County.
The Georgia State Patrol said Randy B. Stansel, 57, was driving his 1997 Dodge Ram truck west on New Cut Road near Ga. 53 when he crossed the center line of the road and traveled onto the grass shoulder. As he tried to return to his lane of travel, he hit an eastbound 2006 Jeep Liberty Sport.
Troopers said Stansel was killed in the crash. His passenger, Rickey D. Stansel, age 60 from Pendergrass, was not injured.
Two female passengers were in the Jeep - one in her mid-twenties and a juvenile. Both were transported by EMS to Northeast Georgia Braselton with minor injuries, Jackson County EMS Director Steve Nichols said in a press release.
The fatal crash occurred around 4:45 p.m.
