Hall, Habersham men named to nominating committee for state Child Advocate

A Hall County man and one from Habersham County have been named by Gov. Nathan Deal to the nominating committee for the position of Advocate in the state's Office of Child Advocate.

Avery Niles of Gainesville is the Commissioner of the state Department of Juvenile Justice and Rick Darby is the retired police chief of Cornelia.  This is the second time Commissioner Niles has been named to a Nominating Committee for the position.

Other members of the committee are:

Steve Teske, Chief Judge of the Clayton County Juvenile Court

Frank Berry, Commissioner of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities

Robyn Crittenden, Commissioner of the Department of Human Services

Judy Fitzgerald, Chief of Staff of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities

Carey Miller, Deputy Executive Counsel of the Office of the Governor

The Honorable David Miller, District Attorney of the Southern Judicial Circuit
