The current principal of Wauka Mountain Elementary School is expected to be confirmed later this month as Director of Elementary Education for the Hall County School District.

Superintendent Will Schofield announced Tuesday that he will recommend Dr. Jo Dinnan for the position. Her name will go before the Hall County Board of Education at its February 8 meeting.

For the past 10 years, Dinnan has served as Wauka Mountain's principal. She also has served in multiple leadership roles, including HCSD Professional Learning Committee and HCSD Special Education Steering Committee. In addition, Dinnan is a past president of the Georgia Association of Elementary School Principals for District One.

"We had several outstanding applicants for this position," said Schofield in a press statement.  "Dr. [Eloise] Barron's committee and I have overwhelming confidence that Jo Dinnan has the experiences, skills and heart necessary to effectively support our elementary principals."

Dinnan will replace Dave Moody in the post; Moody was recently named Executive Director of Lanier Charter Career Academy/HCSD Leadership Development.
