A weather siren test in Hall County originally scheduled for Wednesday morning has been postponed for, incidentally, bad weather.
No word was given on a new time for the siren test to occur, and officials say they postponed it because they didn't want any confusion to occur during a time where there is a legitmate threat of severe weather.
"Sound tests are not conducted if there is a severe weather watch or warning in effect for Hall County. The National Weather Service is currently forecasting thunderstorms in the area Wednesday morning," said Hall County Spokeswoman Katie Crumley in a press release.
The test was scheduled for 10 a.m., and was to conincide with Severe Weather Awareness Week, which runs through Friday.
Officials were also going to test their emergency notification system, which notifies residents about "severe weather, fires, floods, toxic environmental issues and in-process violent crimes" via text messages, phone calls and emails, but that test was also postponed.
