Area closures in Northeast Georgia due to Hurricane Helene

With Hurricane Helene quickly approaching, there are numerous government agencies and businesses closing in the area. Road closures in the City of Gainesville will also be posted here.

Here is the latest confirmed closures:

Government agencies: 

  • Hall County Government facilities, including the government center, courthouse, community centers, landfill, compactor sites, animal shelter and libraries, will be closed on Friday, Sept. 27.  The landfill, compactor sites, community centers, libraries and animal shelter will reopen at normal business hours on Saturday, Sept. 28. All other facilities will reopen at normal business hours on Monday, Sept. 30.

  • The City of Gainesville will have a delayed opening set for noon on Friday. That applies to all city offices and facilities plus WeGo rideshare transportation service.

  • The Jackson County Courthouse will close on Thursday at 3 p.m. and will remain closed until at least Monday.

  • Barrow County offices will close at 3 p.m. on Thursday as well and will resume as normal on Monday pending on the weather conditions.

  • The Habersham County courts and the clerk of court’s office have closed until Monday.

  • Banks County courts will be closed on Friday.

  • Forsyth County government offices and facilities closed at 2 p.m. on Thursday and will have a delayed opening of noon on Friday, subject to conditions at the time.

  • All Gwinnett County Government offices will be closed on Friday.

  • Gwinnett County courts are closed on Thursday and Friday. First appearance hearings scheduled at the Gwinnett County Detention Center will be held as scheduled. 

  • White County offices will close at 3 p.m. on Thursday and will remain closed through Friday.

  • Lumpkin County’s Senior Center will be closed through Friday. Lumpkin County also announced that their courts will be closed starting at 3 p.m. on Thursday through 5 p.m. on Friday. All tax appeal hearings scheduled for tomorrow will be rescheduled for a later date.

  • Lumpkin County library will be closed on Friday and resume normal operations on Saturday.

  • The Dawson County libraries are also closed on Friday and will resume normal operations on Saturday.
     

Businesses: 

  • Primary Care Clinics of Georgia will be closed on Friday.

  • Good News Clinics will be closed Thursday and Friday.

  • The Neuro Center in Gainesville will be closed Friday.

  • The Dermatology Associates of Northeast Georgia will also be closed on Friday.

  • Peach State Bank and Trust will delay opening until noon on Friday.

  • Longstreet Clinic Cancer Center will open at 10:00 a.m.

  • Longestret Pediatrics locations in Buford and Baldwin are closed Friday

  • Longstreet Clinic Obstentrics & Gynecology in Baldwin is closed Friday.

  • Longstreet Clinic's offices in Demorest and Dahlonega are closed Friday.

  • Longstreet Clinic Perinatology in Gainesville is closed Friday.

  • Longstreet Clinic General Surgery in Gainesville is closed Friday.

  • Radiation Therapy locations will open at 9 a.m. on Friday.
  • All non-hospital locations listed below will open at 10 a.m.
