Two new University of North Georgia Scholarship programs, one for the Cumming campus and one for the Blue Ridge campus, have been announced.
The Cumming program is for veterans and the one for Blue Ridge is the initial dedicated scholarship for that campus, which opened last fall
Five scholarships of $2,000 each will benefit veterans enrolled in Cumming during the coming school year, thanks to a donation from the Sawnee Electric Membership Foundation. Preference for the awards will be given to qualifying veterans who are enrolled on the Cumming Campus with at least nine hours and who maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA.
At Blue Ridge, the Georgia Mountains Opportunity Scholarship Fund received its first donation on May 24 from Dr. Fred Siegel, interim associate vice president of Enrollment Management at UNG. Scholarship amounts will be determined based on the number of students applying and financial resources of the fund.
