University of North Georgia holds commencement ceremonies Friday

By Steve Winslow Anchor/Reporter

The University of North Georgia (UNG) will be hosting their commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2024 today, May 3.  UNG officials say there will be three ceremonies, beginning at 10:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

The Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office is reminding those travelling through Dahlonega for the commencement and for other activities to plan your day accordingly and know that there is going to be heavy traffic volume.

While parking may be limited at some lots on the UNG campus, school officials also remind students, graduates and attendees to allow for extra travel time, as there is a championship softball game on campus at 3:00 p.m., while 1st Friday is happening at Hancock Park in Dahlonega during the evening.

You can call UNG for more information on parking access and other travel details at (706) 864-1697, or go online at their web site, here.
