By Associated Press

JEFFERSON, Ga. (AP) A man will spend life behind bars without the possibility of parole for the slaying of his 16-year-old pregnant girlfriend.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (http://on-ajc.com/2aVcOqX) the Jackson County District Attorney's Office says Jonathan Michael Smith was sentenced Thursday in Cheyanne Nicole Hair's death.

Smith was 34 years old when he was charged with murder in Hair's death in December 2013. An autopsy determined she died from blunt force trauma.

Prosecutors say Smith was found guilty on all charges including murder, felony murder, feticide, aggravated assault, two counts of cruelty to children in the first degree, sexual exploitation of a minor, family violence and false imprisonment.

A family member says the couple had only been together a few weeks when they moved to a home just outside the Jefferson city limits.
