A North Georgia high school student who apparently wanted to pay to have two people killed is behind bars in Pickens County.
The Pickens County Sheriff's Office said in a press release they received a tip from Pickens County High School that Morgan Miles Morris, 17, had been trying to hire someone to murder two individuals in the county. Investigators set up an undercover sting and met with Morris. They said the teen offered to pay for the murders and even gave the officers information on how to carry out the killings.
"Detectives then executed a search warrant of Morris's residence where additional corroborating evidence was located," stated the press release.
Authorities said Morris was arrested without incident.
The intended targets of the murder were notified of the plan, according to the sheriff's office.
"At this time, there is no evidence to indicate a threat against any others."
The teen has been charged as an adult and remains in jail.
