UPDATE: North Hall Middle School student arrested for bomb threat

A student at North Hall Middle School was arrested Wednesday in connection to a bomb threat written on a bathroom wall.

Students and staff were evacuated shortly after 2 p.m. to the North Hall High School football stadium for the remainder of the school day, according to Gordon Higgins, Hall County Schools spokesman.

The Hall County Sheriff's Office swept the school, and found no device.

"The Hall County School District takes reports of potential harm directed toward our students very seriously and those responsible for creating disruptions to our schools will be held accountable for their actions," said Higgins in a statement.

The age and gender of the student were not immediately available, nor was information about how staff members learned of the threat.

No injuries were reported.
