The victim of an eight-vehicle pile-up on Georgia 316 on Monday afternoon was a woman from Winder.
The Gwinnett Daily Post reports that Eva Jones Wilkerson, 61, was in a car that ran underneath a tractor trailer on the highway near Buford Drive. Authorities said the vehicle was on fire when they arrived and Wilkerson died at the scene.
Nine other adults and eight children also were injured in the wreck that happened around 3:45 p.m. Monday.
The Lawrenceville Police Department continues its investigation into how the accident occurred.
