North Georgia Technical College is waiving application fees for new students on three Wednesdays in July.
NGTC said applications for the fall 2017 semester will be accepted any time between now and July 20, but students who apply in person or online on Wednesday, July 5, 12 or 19 will have the application fee of $25 waived.
Students may apply for courses at any of the NGTC campus locations – Clarkesville, Currahee or Blairsville - and receive the free application promotion on Wednesdays in July.
A press release from the college said students can also take advantage of free tuition if they enroll in one of the 12 industry programs that are part of Georgia’s HOPE Career Grant, formerly known as the Strategic Industries Workforce Development Grant. The HOPE Career Grant is available to HOPE Grant-qualified students who enroll in select majors specifically aligned with one of 12 industries in which there are more jobs available in Georgia than there are skilled workers to fill them. These industries have been identified as strategically important to the state’s economic growth. Programs available for the HOPE Career Grant at NGTC include commercial truck driving, applied business technology, web application developer, networking specialist, early childhood care and education, nurse aide, medical coding, medical front office assistant, phlebotomy technician, pharmacy technology, industrial systems technology, practical nursing, CNC specialist/technology and welding.
