Braselton planning group to hear proposal for 36-acre multi-use development

The Braselton Planning Commission is scheduled to hear a proposal later this month for multi-use development that will include 240 housing units.

Homecorp is applying for a re-zoning of property owned by Stark Bowen Land LLC.

"The property is approximately 32.5 acres and is identified as Jackson County Tax Parcel 119 013A1," according to a notification from the City of Braselton.  "The property has frontage on Lewis Braselton Blvd. to the north and Davis Street to the south."

The tract is currently zoned R-1 (Residential). The requested zoning is PUD (Planned Unit Development).   According to the application, the proposed development would include 240 multi-family units and 49,450 square feet of commercial building space.

Also on the agenda for the meeting, which will be held Nov. 26 at 7:00 at the Braselton Police and Municipal Court Building, is an application for a conditional use approval from Jay Patel on property owned by him. The property is approximately 4.24 acres and is identified as Jackson County Tax Parcel 118 043C5, according to the application. The property is located in the State Route 53 Overlay District. A  Home2Suites by Hilton Extended Stay Hotel is planned for the site.
