The superintendent of the state prison in Alto, Allen Dills, has been named warden of Lee State Prison in Leesburg.
The announcement was made recently by Georgia Department of Corrections Interim Commissioner Timothy C. Ward.
Dills began his career with the department in 2002 as an accountant paraprofessional at Lee Arrendale State Prison in Alto. He was promoted to personnel manager at the prison in 2009 and in 2012, was promoted to deputy warden of administration at Phillips State Prison in Buford. Upon the opening of the North Regional Office in 2015, Dills was promoted to regional business manager for the North Region. In 2018, he was promoted to superintendent at Arrendale, where he currently serves.
He is scheduled to take over at Lee State Prison Dec. 16.
