Merchants Alliance working to make downtown Cleveland more attractive

By Dean Dyer WRWH Radio

CLEVELAND — The Downtown Cleveland Merchants Alliance is continuing its work to make the downtown area more attractive for local residents and visitors.

During Monday night’s Cleveland City Council meeting, merchant Ward Gann provided an update on the work of the Alliance.

Gann said the group is working on at least three areas of concern:

  • Parking on the square and nearby areas;

  • Signage outside the downtown area, such as the Appalachian Parkway, to point potential customers to the downtown area; and

  • Beautification with planters and plants around the square.

Gann asked the council for their help in each of these areas as the Alliance continues its work.

The Alliance is also looking at some kind of downtown event the weekend of March 31, with in-store and sidewalk sales.
