An early morning fire damaged a house in Chicopee Sunday.
"Hall County Fire Services responded to a residential fire this morning off 2nd Street in Chicopee Village off Atlanta Hwy around 7:20 a.m.," HCFS spokesman Zachary Brackett said. "Arriving personnel found a 1,200 square foot home with heavy smoke coming from the attic."
Capt. Brackett added that the fire was quickly extinguished.
He also said three smoke alarms were located in the house but had been disabled. At the same time, he issued a reminder about the dangers of not having operating smoke alarms on each level of a home and outside sleeping areas. There was no one at home at the time of the fire.
By 8:30, he said, crews were finishing up their operations.
There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is undetermined.
