Gainesville: Don Carter State Park looking for volunteers for two upcoming projects

By AccessWDUN Staff

Don Carter State Park has two "volunteer opportunities" coming up between now and the end of the month.

Saturday, September 15 at 8:00 a.m., the park will be hosting the Lake Lanier Association's Shore Sweep.

According to a press release from the park, volunteers will be cleaning trash from the coves at the park, which is located in northeastern Hall County.  Anyone interested in volunteering should call the Visitors Center at the park at 678-450-7726.

That's also the number to call if you would like to volunteer for a project coming up on September 29 at 2:00.  At that time, the park will host its annual State Parks Day.  That project will involve trail maintenance on one of the park's most popular trails - Huckleberry Trail.

You can also email [email protected] for information.
