A Lawrenceville man has been arrested in a murder that happened at a Monday night house party in Suwanee.
Detectives with the Gwinnett County Police Department have charged Jose Rivera, 23, with aggravated assault and felony murder on the shooting death of Christopher Morand, 20, of Lawrenceville.
Morand's body was found in the house at 528 Taylor Road on Tuesday, Dec. 10 after investigators searched through the night for the murder scene. Witnesses who attended the party told police they fled the scene when gunfire erupted, and they could not remember the exact location of the party.
At this point, detectives do not have a motive for the crime.
While both the suspect and the victim are from Lawrenceville, police did not say if the two knew one another.
