Gwinnett Police identify victim from a homicide in Norcross from last Friday

Gwinnett County Police have identified the victim from last week's fatal shooting in Norcross, while not releasing more details behind any suspects from the case.

A press release on Tuesday morning idenfies the shooting victim from Friday, November 8 as 16-year old Jose Yahir Batz of Norcross, who was found in the area of Windsor Woods Lane after 4:00 p.m. by officers arriving to the scene of a reported altercation.

Gwinnett Police Homicide detectives are investigating a case after a large quantity of cash was found next to the body of a teen fatally shot Friday afternoon.

A press release from Gwinnett County Police says officers were called to the scene on the 2400 block of Windsor Woods Lane in Norcross after 4:00 p.m. following reports of an altercation between two people,  and arrived to find the 15- or 16-year-old male victim dead.

Police say one suspect was detained at the scene. However, as of late Friday night, no suspect information had been released and no arrests had been reported.
