CLEVELAND — A burglary suspect sought by White County Sheriff's Office Monday was taken into custody late Monday afternoon.

Sheriff’s Capt. Rick Kelley said  53-year old Michael Anthony Turner of Cleveland was taken into custody in Lumpkin County.

Kelley said Turner, who was identified from security camera images, was wanted in connection with an apparent break-in at a home on Stanley Nix Road early Monday morning.

According to Kelley, the sheriff's office received a couple of tips that led deputies to a residence just inside Lumpkin County.

Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office deputies, along with their K-9 unit and White County Sheriff’s Office deputies, were able to locate and arrest Turner about 3:30 p.m.

Turner has been charged with first-degree burglary and a probation violation. He is currently being held in the White County Detention Center.
