The Dawson County inmate who escaped custody May 25th will return to jail.
Dawson County Sheriff Jeff Johnson said deputies in Forsyth County caught 29-year old Jeremy Pruitt-Akins just after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
He said they also arrested Lea Marie Propst, who allegedly had been traveling with Pruitt-Akins.
Pruitt-Akins left the detention center to go on a work-detail that Saturday in May but never returned to the detention center after his shift.
The Sheriff issued a BOLO the day after his escape and believed he might be on his way out of state.
Sheriff Johnson said his deputies arrested Donny Cooper Akins of Cumming May 30th and charged him with a felony count of Aiding Escape.
Johnson said Cooper Akins is the uncle of Pruitt-Akins and was the authorized driver to take him back and forth from the detention center to his job.
However, deputies say Cooper Akins instead took his nephew to a location in Gainesville.
