Gainesville is ranked sixth in the country among "midsized" cities for job growth, according to a new AdvisorSmith study.
The report shows Gainesville added 10,100 jobs over the past three years for a growth rate of 12%. At the end of July, Gainesville had 96,300 total jobs.

"We analyzed cities based upon data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Census Bureau," according to a news release from AdvisorSmith, a business insurance advisor.
