At noon today flaggers with the Georgia Department of Transportation will hold traffic on Athens Highway as work continues on the widening of the road.
Workers will be blasting rock underneath what will become the new lanes of the road south of Gainesville.
Motorists can expect delays of about 20 minutes between Roy Parks and Wallace roads.
