A Forsyth County Sheriff's Office deputy was taken to the hospital after his patrol motorcycle hit the back of a passenger vehicle at a traffic light.
The accident happened around 1:40 p.m. at the intersection of Ronald Reagan Boulevard and Brannon Road, according to an email statement from Georgia State Patrol Post 37 in Cumming.
The deputy was driving a 2019 Harley Davidson patrol motorcycle, traveling behind a 2008 Mercedes Benz SLK. The 17-year-old driver of the Mercedes had stopped for a changing traffic signal and the deputy was unable to stop, striking the back of the passenger car.
The deputy, whose name was not released, was taken to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the car was not injured.
