Six women have been identified as the victims in a fiery van crash Saturday night in northern Gwinnett County.

The deadly accident happened around 6:30 p.m. on April 24 at the I-85/I-985 split.

Gwinnett County Police said all of the victims were from Georgia, including one woman from Habersham County in North Georgia.

The identities of the victims and their cities of residence are:

  • Alishia Carroll, 34, Columbus
  • Kristie Whitfield, 44, Mount Airy
  • Ashleigh Paris, 26, Kennesaw
  • Tina Rice, 53, Atlanta
  • Normisha Monroe, 38, Norcross
  • Rose Patrick, 34, Ellabell

All of the women were associated with a sober living group known as We Are Living Proof. On Monday, a post on the group's Facebook page acknowledged the accident, but did not name the victims.

"We are deeply saddened by the lives lost in Saturday evening's tragic accident. We ask that you join us in prayer for the families and loved ones of the ladies we lost, as well as the survivors," the post stated.

Police said there were 16 people in the 15-passenger van at the time of the crash. The other 10 occupants reportedly were injured; there has been no update on their conditions.

The Gwinnett County Police Department on Wednesday also released nine pieces of 911 audio from witnesses who either saw the accident happen or who had stopped to help the people inside the van.

Investigators continue to research the cause of the deadly accident, and they ask anyone who might have information to call the Accident Investigation Unit tip line at 678-442-5653.
