By AccessWDUN Staff

OAKWOOD, Ga. — White County walked out of West Hall on Tuesday night, breathing a sigh of relief.

West Hall's final basket was ruled a 2-pointer instead of a 3, which gave the Warriors (5-6, 2-0) a slim 62-61 victory and the top spot in the Region 7-3A standings.

In a game that featured two of the region's top scorers, White County's Jadon Yeh nailed a game-high 33 points, while West Hall's Owen Jenkins turned in a 24-point night, 15 of which came from the 3-point line.

The game sheds light on what fans could see in the region tournament in February.

Regardless of the future region standings, the Warriors led 16-13 at the end of the first quarter, but West Hall (6-4, 2-1), thanks to 9 points from Jenkins, grabbed the lead by the halftime horn, 31-30.

The two foes traded baskets in the third quarter, ending in a 47-47 tie, leaving the final period for all the fireworks. Despite holding Yeh to just two points in the quarter, the Spartans' last shot for overtime was ruled a 2-pointer.

White County plays host to Gilmer on Friday. West Hall goes on the road to Fort Walton Beach, Fla., to play Choctawhatchee on Friday.

COMMERCE 44,
RIVERSIDE PREP 40

Jackson Morris scored 23 points, and Evan Peters had 8 to lead Commerce past Riverside in Gainesville on Tuesday.

Commerce travels to Banks County on Friday.

CHEROKEE BLUFF 61,
FORSYTH CENTRAL 50

Carlos Marlow scored 22 points and pulled 7 rebounds to help the Bears (5-2) over Forsyth Central on Tuesday and their third straight win.

After a close first half, in which the Bears led by a point, 26-25, Bluff opened it up in the third quarter. Marlow scored 7 of his 22 points in the third period to give the Bears a 45-31 lead.

Cooper Glover scored 12 points in the win, Bryce Hortan scored 9, and Logan Holmes 8. Boston Kersh finished with 7 points and 10 rebounds.
