Two Gainesville suspects charged with trafficking fentanyl in Hall County

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation charged on Nov. 10 two suspects from Gainesville for trafficking fentanyl. 

In a press release, the GBI said Dorian Dorsey, 37, and Amanda Howard, 45, both of Gainesville were arrested after a joint drug investigation by the Georgia State Patrol and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office.

Dorsey was taken into custody after a brief car chase in Lumpkin County officials said. 

Police allegedly found nearly two ounces of suspected fentanyl in the vehicle.

“The investigation conducted by the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office, DEA  Atlanta and ARDEO, also led to a search warrant in the 3500 block of Thompson Bend, Gainesville, GA, where police discovered more drugs,” the press release said. 

During the investigation officers seized about five ounces of suspected fentanyl with a street value of nearly $20,000.

Dorsey is charged with two counts of trafficking fentanyl and Howard is charged with one count of trafficking fentanyl. Additional charges and arrests are expected in Lumpkin and Hall Counties.
