Girls basketball: Cherokee Bluff, Chestatee, NoFo, Lakeview, LCA, White all win; EaFo, Rabun lose

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Cherokee Bluff used balanced scoring to roll past East Forsyth 62-30 in the sub-region opener at home on Tuesday. 

The Lady Bears (5-1, 1-0 Region 8-4A North) had seven in the scoring column, including leading scorer Bristol Kersh with 12 points. She also added five steals and two assists in the win. 

Emma Reynolds had nine points and three blocks. Kaitlin Cook also chipped in nine points and recorded five steals and one play. Brooklyn Phillips added eight points and eight boards. Audrey Graham and Emery Jones had eight points each, and Claire Carlson finished with six points, five blocks, three steals, five assists and 10 boards. 


NORTH FORSYTH 63,
LAMBERT 49

The Lady Raiders found a rhythm in the second half to blow past Lambert at Raider Arena on Tuesday.

London Weaver led North Forsyth with 22 points, and Gabbie Gliatta had 11.


CHESTATEE 76,
JOHNSON 11

Riley Black broke the career-rebound record last night in the win over Johnson at Lynn Cottrell Center.

The West Georgia commit scored a game-high 25 points and pulled eight rebounds. The eight rebounds pushed Black past Peyton Robertson on the career rebounding leaderboard. Black now has 804 rebounds in her four-year career.

Miranda Hernandez scored a career-high 13 points. Caroline Bull contributed 12 and Jamya Weaver had 10.

Chestatee 4-1 (1-0) next plays North Hall at Chestatee on Friday at 7 p.m.


LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 64,
PINECREST 22

Taliah Gaither scored 16 points, and Emeryie Combs had 15 to lead the Lady Lions past Pinecrest Academy at home on Tuesday. 

Lakeview led 46-13 at halftime and extended the lead to 57-22 at the end of the third quarter. 

Ashlyn Henderson added 10 points in the win. 


LANIER CHRISTIAN 66,
JOHNSON FERRY 31

The Lady Lightning (4-5) used a stingy defense in the win over Johnson Ferry at home on Tuesday. 

Jia Thapar led all scorers with 15 points. Adelyn Gough had 13 points, and Emma Flowers and Ellie Roberts had 12 each. 


WHITE COUNTY 79,
TALLULAH FALLS 36

Emma Lightsey scored a game-high 30 points to lead the Lady Warriors (8-0) past Tallulah Falls at home on Tuesday. 

Kylie Watkins added 15 in the win.


FRANKLIN, NC 73, 
RABUN COUNTY 58

Lucy Hood led the Lady Wildcats with 20 points in the loss to Franklin, NC, on Tuesday. Ellis Southards added 15 points, and Addy Beth Owens chipped in eight.
