One woman was taken to the hospital after a shooting Sunday morning off Poplar Springs Road in Hall County.
The Hall County Sheriff's Office said in a press release the 27-year-old woman was injured in the shooting in the 3000 block of Gilleland Extension.
The incident occurred outside of a party in the area when the victim and an unknown number of other people were involved in an altercation. During the altercation, an unknown suspect fired the shot that hit the woman.
Deputies arrived at the scene at around 1:20 a.m., where they found the victim alert and talking. Crews with Hall County Fire Rescue transferred the woman to the hospital.
All others involved in the altercation fled the scene aside from the victim. No information was released regarding a suspect or any arrests in the case.
Investigators said the public does not face any threat as the investigation continues.
The victim's name and condition were not released.
