Gwinnett County is launching the Gwinnett County Small Business Grant Program, which provides financial aid to small businesses impacted by COVID-19.
The county said in a press release businesses are eligible if they experienced income loss or increased costs while continuing business during the pandemic.
Gwinnett County commissioners allocated $6 million for the grant from the $181 million received from the American Rescue Plan Act.
Funds are estimated to range from $3,000 to $15,000 and will be awarded based on factors such as number of employees, gross revenue, total applicant COVID impact, available funds and the number of applications received.
“The Board of Commissioners recognizes the importance of supporting local small businesses that provide critical services, products and employment opportunities for residents in Gwinnett,” said Gwinnett County Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson, “The County further acknowledges the adverse impact the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has had on our community’s businesses and these investments will be a vital step toward revitalizing our local economy and ensuring our small businesses thrive.”
