Texas man facing DUI and other charges in Rabun County wreck

A man from Abilene, Texas, is facing multiple charges in Rabun County following a Saturday night single-vehicle accident.

The Georgia State Patrol reported that 46-year-old Brian Keith Gibson was negotiating a curve at 7:29 p.m. in a 2019 Ford Ranger to the left eastbound lane on Georgia 2 near Forest Service Road 290.

 He then traveled off the Southside of Georgia 2, struck an embankment, vaulted across Forest Service Road 290 and stuck a stop sign. Gibson’s vehicle proceeded to hit multiple trees before coming to a stop on its passenger side down a steep embankment.

Gibson was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for possible minor injuries. 

He faces charges of  Driving Under the Influence, Failure to Maintain a Lane, Open Container, as well as multiple drug-related charges.
