Two Hiawassee residents were arrested on Sunday on drug and obstruction charges after being bonded out.
38-year-old Ronald Shane Lowery and 49-year-old Christine Cardona were previously arrested on Nov. 22 after Towns County officials reportedly found “an amount” of field-tested methamphetamine.
Lowery was released on a $5,000 bond on Sunday and Cardona was released on Nov. 24 on a $1,000 bond.
Now, the Towns County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) reports that on Sunday, they received a call to Twin Mountain Road in reference to threats against a 14-year-old.
Once on scene, officials reportedly found a vehicle with the two inside.
Lowery allegedly became irate and resisted arrest. Probable cause was determined to search the vehicle, which led to them finding an amount of marijuana according to officials.
Lowery was arrested on two counts of willful obstruction of law enforcement officers and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
Cardona was arrested on a single count of willful obstruction of law enforcement officers and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
Both are currently being held in the Towns County Detention Center with no bond.
