Former Jefferson star Sammy Brown named ACC Defensive ROY for 2024

CLEMSON, S.C. — Clemson freshman, and former Jefferson High standout, Sammy Brown was named the ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year for 2024.

The announcement by the league came on Thursday.

Brown, a linebacker for the Tigers, had 56 total tackles (34 solo) which is fourth on the team. He also registered 10.5 TFL, including 5 sacks, during the regular season.

Brown and the Tigers have at least one more game in 2024, taking on SMU on Saturday for the ACC Championship. If Clemson wins that, they are all but assured a spot in the first 12-team College Football Playoff bracket.

A loss would more than likely keep them out of the playoffs. A lower bowl game, however, could still be a possibility if they lose.
