It's, "ready and steady," with gas prices for Georgia's commuters this week. This is a welcome sign for the holiday shopping season.
AAA of Georgia's web site shows the average price for unleaded gasoline remains at $2.90 per gallon (subject to change) as of Monday, the same rate from last week, but 4 cents below the average from one month ago and 15 cents lower than one year ago at this time.
“Georgia gas prices saw minimal or no change at the pumps across the state,” said Montrae Waiters, spokeswoman for AAA-The Auto Club Group. “Crude oil prices fell by more than 1 percent last Friday. With the Thanksgiving travel now in our rearview mirror, it appears that gas prices are steadfastly continuing their gradual descent.”
Commuters through Hall County will see an average price just above $2.83 per gallon Monday (subject to change), with the highest average price found in Union County at $2.91 per gallon, and the lowest average price will be found in Hart County, at $2.72.
Nationally, drivers should see an average gas price of about $3.02 today, about one penny lower than last week. A full view of the average prices for Georgia can be found on the AAA web page, here.
