A motorcycle crash in Hart County has claimed the life of a local rider, while Georgia State Patrol (GSP) continues to investigate what triggered the single vehicle wreck.

A release from the GSP says that on Sunday, December 29th, at around 6:15 PM, their troopers from Post 52 Hartwell responded to a single vehicle crash on New Prospect Road in Hart County.

A 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling north on New Prospect Road when the driver failed to maintain his lane of travel. The motorcycle overturned and came to rest in the south bound lane of New Prospect Road. The driver, identified as 52-year old Joseph Rudolph Pruett of Hart County, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

There were no other occupants on the motorcycle at the time of crash, and no other vehicles were reportedly involved.
